Hello lovelies! I wish I was one of those people who could make a New Year’s resolution and actually stick to it, but alas, I am weak *rolls eyes*. Although I’m not going to make any set resolutions, there are a few things I want to work on in 2017 and thought I’d share them with you (maybe this will motivate me to stick to them… haha).
1. Stay fit and healthy.
This is one of those goals that I set for myself every year, but I usually set myself majorly unrealistic targets. This year, I’m just going to chill, try and eat a bit more clean and go to the gym more than once in a while. Nothing too crazy… just wanting to live a generally healthier lifestyle and feel a bit better and more energised!
2. Experience life to the fullest.
Sometimes I put things off because I’m a major procrastinator, or life just gets in the way – the usual. But this year I’d quite like to ‘seize the day’ and take advantage of every opportunity that comes my way. I need to stop putting blockades in the way of doing things I want to do!
3. Get out the damn reading slump!
Those of you who have been kicking about my blog for a while will know, I’ve been in the worst reading slump for months and months now. At some point this year, I’m definitely going to get over it. It’s happening! I miss my literary faves.
4. Learn a new skill.
Self-improvement is something I feel quite strongly in, so I’d love to learn something completely new. Since I enjoy alcohol, I was thinking about possibly looking into mixology and learning how to make a few cocktails. I’ll just wait and see where life takes me!
5. Become more positive.
Finally, I’d quite like to just become a bit more happier and positive in every day life. I can be quite pessimistic at times, just because life happens and it sucks sometimes, but I’d definitely like to get back to more of a ‘glass half-full’ type of mindset.
So there’s what I’m going to be working on this year! What about you? Any resolutions or goals you’re setting for yourself? Let me know 🙂
Best of luck on your resolutions! And I genuinely miss your book reviews ❤ Happy new year 💘💘

Hi Lily! I’ve been in a major reading slump at the minute so my reviews have been suffering majorly. With this new year though, I’m definitely going to get back into reading and posting reviews! Happy new year ☺💕

I am signing up for Yoga 101 tomorrow at the local Y and going back to Weight Watchers at it’s first meeting (here in town) for 2017 Friday. I’ve got to get more fit or I will continue to be “stove up” (as my 85 year old friend says) and unready for the new semester on the 17th. I do not make resolutions either, but I do want to be a less judgmental, kinder, more positive person.

You’re the kindest and sweetest person I know Rae! I do hope you have fun with yoga though, I’ve heard it can be very relaxing and good for the soul ☺

I am not so concerned about the meditation part of yoga. I have my own personal meditation on scripture and readings then my prayer time each morning (I actually keep a paper list for intercessory purposes.), so that’s covered. What is not as good is this poor old physical bod! I was so “stove up” yesterday (We are having lots of rain here and the arthritic parts of me–most parts–are yelling and complaining.) I was shuffling around here moaning with every step and frowning to beat the band–definitely not me! I made myself run errands in the storms this am, and did get signed up for the yoga class. The skies are clearing now , so I may spend some “muddy time” planting in the yard. I cooked for therapy yesterday, so will definitely be heading to Weight Watchers Friday.

Sorry to hear you’re achy Rae! Hopefully the yoga and keeping yourself busy will help though. All the best 💕

Yoga is for young people! I went to the first class and did what I could today and am typing sitting on a heating pad now. Ha Ha. However, I’m sure it will help in the long run, or else I’m a glutton for punishment, for I’m going to the next class on Thursday. As for keeping busy, I may be in over my head. I hope not.

Well, it never hurts to set some achievable goals for yourself! Just see what you can manage and don’t stress too much over the rest 🙂
