Tag: The Ultimate Game of Thrones Book Tag

Hey everyone 🙂 I am so excited because today I bring you… THE ULTIMATE GAME OF THRONES BOOK TAG!!!! If you haven’t been around for long then you won’t know this, but I am a major GoT fan. It’s probably my favourite TV show of all time and I’m pretty much obsessed with it. I need to say a huge thank you to Eve over at Eve Messenger for tagging me to do this (I more than likely would have done it anyway, even if I wasn’t tagged, but at least this way I won’t look like such a loner lmfao).

*Ps. I need to warn you that there will be some spoilers for this series in part two of this post, you have been warned! I’m also writing this post only seeing up to Season 6, Episode 6 – that’s what I’m basing my predictions on.

  1. Mention the creator Orang-utan Librarian.
  2. Answer all the questions.
  3. Tag people and keep it going!

Part 1 – Book Questions

“We do not sow”

A book you would not be willing to invest in.

Love and Other Man-Made Disasters by Nicola Doherty.

I’ve talked about this one a few times now since I wrote my review about it. I received this through NetGalley and didn’t really enjoy it at all, so I definitely wouldn’t spend money on actually buying a physical copy of it.

“Fire and blood”

A book that produced strong emotions in you.

This one is kind of difficult because I’m a major book crier and quite a lot of things set me off, but I was particularly distraught after finishing… Allegiant by Veronica Roth.

You know that little unexpected thing which happened at the end of this book? The one that NOBODY SAW COMING OR COULD BELIEVE?!?!?! Yeah, well… it left me bawling for hours (attractive, I know).

“Winter is coming”

Your favorite winter read.

In all honestly, I don’t re-read books often and I definitely don’t prioritise my books by season. I guess I’ll probably just say… Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling (as if you didn’t already know that).

I don’t know what it is about this series but I always see a lot of people saying that they love reading these stories at christmas. It could be because the winter/christmas scenes in HP are done well, or the fact that christmas is a time to be spent with family and a lot of people consider HP a big part of their childhood. Who knows, maybe I’ll re-read these books this christmas and see what all the fuss is about!

“Family. Duty. Honour.”

A book about strong family ties.

The Loose Ends List by Carrie Firestone.

I’m currently still reading this one but it was clear from the very beginning how important family is to the characters in this story and it shows through how close they are and the things that they do for each other.

“Growing strong”

A book you had low expectations of but that grew on you.

One Paris Summer by Denise Grover Swank.

This is another one which I received through NetGalley and wrote a review about recently. Since I hadn’t heard of this author before and because of the whole “Paris cliché” theme, I didn’t have the highest of expectations for this. But this book gave me a lot of feels and made me feel all fuzzy and ah, I want to re-live this book again.

“Ours is the fury”

A book that made you furious.

After We Collided and After We Fell by Anna Todd.

I feel like I’ve mentioned this before on my blog but I’m going to repeat it anyway. I genuinely did like this series, even though it was controversial, but the two middle books really ground on my last nerve. I originally read this whole series through Wattpad on my phone and I can’t even count the amount of time I nearly threw it at a wall (seriously). It follows one of those on-again-off-again relationships which is so annoying but because the books are so addicting I just could’t put them down. Ugh, I’m getting all rilled up just talking about how they make me mad haha.

“Unbowed. Unbent.Unbroken.”

A book you have unwavering devotion to.

Any book in the Shadowhunter Chronicles by Cassandra Clare.

I will never, EVER, not love Cassie and her Shadowhunter books. Like seriously, never.

“A Lannister always pays his debts”

A book you feel indebted to.

Tom’s Sausage Lion or The Butterfly Lion by Michael Morpurgo.

When I was in primary school my teacher tried to convince me to read and handed me a Michael Morpurgo book to get me started (I know it’s one of the ones I just mentioned but I can’t remember which). After reading this book I completely fell in love with his stories and started devouring them at a quick pace. I am forever indebted to Michael Morpurgo and that teacher because if she hadn’t done what she did, then I might not even be writing this blog post today.

Part 2 – Fan Theories

Who do you want to win the Game of Thrones?

Uhm, you want me to choose just one person? Not going to happen.

Okay, what I would love most of all would be for all of the remaining Starks to get back together and reclaim Winterfell. Then, I want Bran to politely inform Jon that he is a Targayrian (R+L=J). Once all of that’s out the way, I want Dany to cross the narrow sea, kill the High Sparrow and all of his followers, plus the White Walkers, then find out that she’s Jon’s aunt. In an ideal world, I’d then like the both of them to conquer Westeros and rule together, with Tyrion as hand of the king and the Starks being reinstated as Warden of the North. Oh, I also want it to be true that Tyrion is a Targarian. As you can see, this would be a wonderful little utopia but because George R.R. Martin is out to ruin all of our lives, the opposite of everything I’ve just said will probably happen. Sigh.

Ps. If you don’t know about the R+L=J theory then click here to find out.

Who do you think will make it to the end and who do you think will die?

Okay dokey then, time to contradict myself.

Knowing George R.R. Martin, he probably hasn’t finished killing off Stark’s yet, so… I think Rickon might die. Just because he is the only Stark we don’t really know much about because his storyline has been out of the show for a while. I think the rest of the Stark’s will be okay (fingers tightly crossed).

I’m basically 100% sure that Charles Baratheon/Lannister will die because of the prophecy we saw Cercei receive in season five. As for Ramsay Bolton, I’m also just counting down the days until he get’s killed (hopefully by Sansa) because he’s such a horrible wee shite. I actually also think there’s a possibility that Euron Greyjoy could die too because I feel like Theon and Yara will rise up and overthrow him. Unfortunately, I don’t think Jorah will survive his greyscale, so he’ll probably die too. I’m trying to think of who else might die… I’m not too sure what’s going to happen with Cercei and Jaime. If Dany does conquer Westeros then she will probably kill Jaime for murdering her father, the Mad King, Aerys. Maybe Cercei will get locked in a tower or something – fated to live a horrible life alone without a family.

Oooft, okay, that’s enough predictions for today (my head is actually starting to hurt with trying to figure out this series).

Part 3 – My Game of Thrones

Would you win or die?

Well, I’ve decided that there are three main things one should possess if they wish to have a chance at winning the Game of Thrones:

  1. Logic/wisdom
  2. Lots of money
  3. A huge ass army

I feel like if you have two or more of these things then you’re pretty much good to go and since I don’t possess many of these three, I’d probably be one of those guys who dies in the prologue of the first book (lol, what a fail).

What house are you?

I’ve decided that I don’t actually have a clue what house I belong in, just the one I wish I was in, so I’ve decided to take an online quiz instead. If you want to take it too, then click here.

Turns out I’m in the house… Tyrell

Erm, I don’t really know about this one, I guess it could be true? See what I’m talking about though, I never would have picked this house for myself if I had the choice. Here’s the little blurb that came along with the Tyrell house on the quiz:

Ah, the Tyrells. So pretty, so sweet, so delightfully ruthless underneath. You’re not just good at playing the game of thrones, you enjoy the hell out of it. Where others grab their swords, you hand out alms and patiently draw up marriage contracts. But you also have your family’s back, and they have yours – it’s the rest of the world that needs to watch out for your thorns.

Well, well, well, maybe I won’t be one of those guys who die in the prologue after all!

I Nominate…

Ps. I hope you guys have actually watched GoT… but if you haven’t then I’m sorry, I’m an idiot lol.

Pss. I just wanted you guys to know that when you tag/nominate me for something, can you make sure that the link you use goes to my contact page, or a specific post? If the link just goes to http://www.clockworkbibliophile.com then it won’t pop up in my notifications and I might not see it!

So there you have it, the Game of Thrones Book Tag! This is probably my favourite tag that I’ve ever done on my blog because it was so interesting and I got to fangirl about GoT a little! Tell me in the comments what house you got placed in if you completed the quiz 🙂 I hope you enjoyed this post, thanks for reading!

  1. Ok don’t laugh but I got to thinking by the time Jon will have retaken the north and killed Ramsey the White Walkers attack and when his on the brink of defeat Dany swoops in because what better way to destroy ice men than with fire breathing dragons. Then the two will couple up and rule Westeros. The rest of the Starks rule the North and everyone else dies. Lol but that’s just me.

  3. ooh I loved Michael Morpurgo as a child, but have never read those two- I should check them out. Ahh I totally agree with you about that outcome for westeros!! I need *all* of those things to happen- but knowing George R R Martin it’s not quite gonna go down like that. I also agree with you about most of your predictions about whose gonna die- but I think Cersei is one of the ones that’s definitely gonna kick the bucket before the end. Haha love the way you described how to survive GoT- I’d definitely be one to die in the prologue!!

  4. I love this tag! I don’t think I could answer these questions because I go through so many books, I forget details, even how they made me feel. Only recently I started paying more attention for book blogging and Goodreads. But I also recently became a huge GoT fan!! I’m catching up right now: about tot start season 5. Amazing show and awesome post 🙂
