Hello lovelies 🙂 Along with my monthly wrap up posts, I’ve decided to start doing weekly updates as well. These posts will probably be a bit more random and I’ll try to include non-bookish things as well, so this will be a nice little change from what’s usually on my blog. I’m not even sure if any of you will be interested in this non-book stuff but I’m going to give it a bash anyway 🙂
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme created and hosted by Kimberly, over at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Go check out her blog if you get a minute!
This month has been absolutely crazy busy with uni work for me which you’ll probably already know if you’ve read some of my other posts this month. I’ve had four 2,500 word essays to write, four assessed presentations, two online tests and an exam. Woohoo, so fun -_- I’m glad it’s over though and now I can chill, plus start reading again!
I also got the cold this week, which sucks but at least it’s spring break and I can have a good few bed days 🙂
Lady Midnight (The Dark Artifices #1) by Cassandra Clare
I’m FINALLY just about to start reading Lady Midnight, and it’s about bloody time too! I was so excited about this book’s release but then uni decided to rein hell down on me. Anyway, that’s over and now I’m finally basking in Shadowhunter bliss again :))))))))))
Synopsis from Goodreads:
It’s been five years since the events of City of Heavenly Fire that brought the Shadowhunters to the brink of oblivion. Emma Carstairs is no longer a child in mourning, but a young woman bent on discovering what killed her parents and avenging her losses.
Together with her parabatai Julian Blackthorn, Emma must learn to trust her head and her heart as she investigates a demonic plot that stretches across Los Angeles, from the Sunset Strip to the enchanted sea that pounds the beaches of Santa Monica. If only her heart didn’t lead her in treacherous directions…
Making things even more complicated, Julian’s brother Mark—who was captured by the faeries five years ago—has been returned as a bargaining chip. The faeries are desperate to find out who is murdering their kind—and they need the Shadowhunters’ help to do it. But time works differently in faerie, so Mark has barely aged and doesn’t recognize his family. Can he ever truly return to them? Will the faeries really allow it?
What I Want To Read Next…
A Gathering of Shadows (Shades of Magic #2) by V.E. Schwab
After I finish Lady Midnight I need to read AGoS, asap! I finished A Darker Shade of Magic early last month and have been dying to read the sequel ever since. I need to find out what’s going on with Kell and Delilah.
Synopsis from Goodreads:
Four months have passed since the shadow stone fell into Kell’s possession. Four months since his path crossed with Delilah Bard. Four months since Rhy was wounded and the Dane twins fell, and the stone was cast with Holland’s dying body through the rift, and into Black London.
In many ways, things have almost returned to normal, though Rhy is more sober, and Kell is now plagued by his guilt. Restless, and having given up smuggling, Kell is visited by dreams of ominous magical events, waking only to think of Lila, who disappeared from the docks like she always meant to do. As Red London finalizes preparations for the Element Games—an extravagant international competition of magic, meant to entertain and keep healthy the ties between neighboring countries—a certain pirate ship draws closer, carrying old friends back into port.
But while Red London is caught up in the pageantry and thrills of the Games, another London is coming back to life, and those who were thought to be forever gone have returned. After all, a shadow that was gone in the night reappears in the morning, and so it seems Black London has risen again—meaning that another London must fall.
Favourite Songs This Week…
Here’s a few songs which I’ve been absolutely obsessed with for the past week:
Polarize is definitely my favourite song right now and Twenty One Pilots are swiftly become one of my favourite bands. Their whole album Blurryface is amazingggggg, I highly suggest you go listen to them! I’ll also admit to quite liking Ariana Grande’s new song, Dangerous Woman, even though I’m not too fond of her usually – it’s just so damn catchy. And finally… JOE JONAS IS IN A NEW BAND. Did you already know this or am I just really late to the party? When I found this out and heard Cake by the Ocean I was so happy because it’s such a good tune (plus, another member of the Jonas Brothers is back on the charts, yeeeeees).
Favourite Story of the Week
Omg, I found out about this last night and just had to share it with you! I don’t know if any of you used to watch the Powerpuff Girls, but I did because it was an absolutely spectacular show back in the day. Anyway, this show is getting a reboot and because of that, Cartoon Network has set up a website so that we can ‘Powerpuff ourselves’ *squeals in excitement*. Here’s mine:
I don’t have black hair, or green eyes, and I’m not a cheerleader… but I’m feeling rebellious (and this one looks so cute). If you would like your own adorable little Powerpuff version of yourself, then just click this link 🙂
Blogger of the Week
I’m going to include this little section sometimes to give shout outs to some bloggers who I think are great because I like spreading the love within our lovely little book community ❤ ❤ ❤
And blogger of the week goes to… Gel, over at Books y Gel. Gel is a great blogger and so friendly! She was actually one of the first people to follow me and actively comment on my blog, so thank you for that 🙂 If you get a spare minute, definitely check out her blog and give her a follow!
