I don’t usually plan out my reads in advance because I only ever pick up a book if I’m in the mood for it. If I have a list of books which I need to read in a certain order I often find myself in a major reading slump. The horror!
Saying that, I have got a couple books in mind which I’d like to get through next month. Or rather, I really should be reading next month, so I’ll state them here and see if I can stick to it.
The Power of Six (Lorien Legacies #2) by Pittacus Lore
I know this series gets a lot of flack because of James Frey but I enjoyed the movie adaptation of I Am Number Four and read the first book in this series in January. I didn’t think the first novel was amazing, the writing and character development were definitely lacking, however, I’m still interested in the world it’s set in. Because of this, I’m going to read this second book. I can’t be sure if I’m going to finish the series or not, I’ll just take it one book at a time.
I don’t know much about this second novel apart from that it is written in a different POV from the first one, which will be a nice change. I’m definitely interested in finding out how this series will end, especially since the last book is set for publication at some point this year.
Hollow City (Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children #2) by Ransom Riggs
This is another book I read in January that I enjoyed. This story actually ended on a really exciting note but I didn’t have the incline to pick up Hollow City after this one. I have it now though and would definitely like to get to it at some point next month.
I want to get around to this book sooner rather than later because I don’t want to forget everything about the first book, I hate when that happens (especially since I’m not interested in re-reading MPHPC).
I’m sorry about the shortness of this post but, as I said earlier, I don’t like having a long immediate TBR list. Ugh, also I’m super sorry about how little I’ve been posting this month. I’ll definitely be reading more than just these books next month though! I might try some contemporaries as well to break up from all of the fantasy/ paranormal I have been reading recently. I upload a wrap up on the first of every month so definitely check that out if you want to find out what I’ll have actually read in April 🙂
Thanks for reading,
S xo
I definitely want to start the Miss Peregrine’s School for Peculiar Children, now that we know a movie’s gonna come out.!!

I hear you on the making a TBR for the month thing. I used to do it, but I’d just never get around to all of the books because, like you, it’d put me in a slump. Good luck to you!

I read I Am Number Four and liked it before I heard about the controversy, Unfortunately I haven’t gotten much further in the series since then.

It’s a real shame that people boycott this book because of all the controversy – a lot of time and effort has still gone in to writing this, y’know?

Although I understand some boycotting of books (I guess I wouldn’t buy a book if I knew the author was doing something particularly atrocious with the profits), I read controversial books all the time. I just get them from the library instead of spending my own money on them. :p
